How to do Grasstops Lobbying:

Meet 👋

  • Build relationships with local business and community leaders

  • Understand their needs, and the needs of the people they represent

  • Help leaders to understand climate policy, especially pricing and dividends.

Support 😊

  • Find ways to support and celebrate the leaders’ efforts

  • Discover if a business or community group would like to be involved in CCL.

Endorse 💪

  • Learn about what businesses and communities are doing about climate

  • See if leaders would be willing to endorse a carbon price (and dividend)

  • Share your wins and pains with the wider CCL community 😊

It’s always more fun together.

Democracy is not a spectator sport!

The three kinds of lobbying

  • Political

Meeting your political representatives to talk about climate change in a caring, non-partisan way that’s all about listening.

  • Grassroots

This is all about citizens talking to citizens, whether it’s setting up a table at a local farmers’ market, or an event with a local politician.

  • Grasstops

Making friends with community leaders, including executives, religious and cultural leaders and our elders.
